Last year on Palm Sunday you received some blessed palms to remind you of Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. In a couple weeks we will come to receive on our foreheads ashes (those palms transformed into dust). This practice in the church is used to invite us into a more serious attitude of deepening our friendship with Jesus during Lent. Throughout the Bible ashes have been used as a reminder that we are human and always in need of purification. There are boxes in the Gathering Area to collect these palms. Then when we receive the ashes on February 14th , let us remember we are on a sacred journey with Jesus. Lent is a good preparation.
